As a member of the Committee on Environmental Conservation, Stewart-Cousins is frequently a prime sponsor at the forefront of environmental legislation.  NYLCV's continued support of the Senator is an affirmation of her ability as a legislator to work towards a greener, more sustainable future in New York State.

Stewart-Cousins co-sponsored some of NYLCV's legislative priorities, including the Sewage Pollution Right-to-Know Act. She has also supported "The Bigger Better Bottle Bill," which would allocate bottle deposits to the EPF, as well as a law to require considering HVHF wastes as hazardous.  Stewart-Cousins will remain a secure vote for environment legislation.
