NYLCV Meets The CandidatesSubmitted by Dan Hendrick on Thu, 2012-07-05 16:10.
Now that the state legislative session is over, NYLCV has shifted our political efforts into high year.
It's a process that begins with our candidate questionnaire, which focuses on policy goals outlined in our State Policy Agenda. Once candidates return their completed questionnaires, we set up face-to-face interviews to meet the candidates and learn more about their priorities and philosophy. Once our local chapters screen the candidates, they make recommendations to our Endorsement Committee and then finally onto the NYLCV Board for approval. In addition, the NYLCV PAC is already hard at work narrowing down our electoral campaigns, which we will announce later this summer. NYLCV is the only statewide organization that uses the power of endorsements to help elect environmental leaders. And the NYLCV PAC is the only PAC in New York that runs campaigns to actually put green leaders into office.
