MTA's Jay Walder Speaks At NYLCVEF Eco-BreakfastSubmitted by Dan Hendrick on Thu, 2010-09-23 12:45.
Jay Walder, President and CEO of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, was the guest speaker at the NYLCV Education Fund's EcoBreakfast on Thursday morning.
As Bill Ruskin's blog points out, Walder spoke about making "transformational" change rather than "evolutionary" change at the MTA. He talked about some major milestones he contributed to during his first stint at the agency -- especially the introduction of the MetroCard. Technology is not merely a tool, it is one of the best ways to modernize and revolutionize mass transit in New York, Walder said. The NYLCV Education Fund's EcoPartners program is a great way for your company or organization to support environmental education efforts across New York State.
