As seen in the Journal News, visitors to the RiverWalk, now totaling 32 miles of paved trail along the Hudson River, have a new addition to check out, thanks to a public-private partnership.

The RiverWalk offers stunning views.The just-opened section traverses the historic Lyndhurst estate, built in 1838, and sites owned by Kraft Foods Global, Metro-North Railroad and the village of Tarrytown. Along the way, visitors will pass wooded hillsides, a bluff above the eastern bank of the Hudson River and a footbridge over a stream gorge.

Westchester County led the design work, with participation by executives of the Lyndhurst estate. The county also funded Tarrytown's portion of the greenway construction. The village is responsible for ongoing maintenance.

The RiverWalk is planned as a 51.5-mile pathway along the Hudson River that links villages, historic sites, parks and river access points.  It spans 14 municipalities in Westchester County.

Construction began in 2002 in Croton.  he next portion to be built is a path between the Glenwood train station to the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail in Yonkers.
