Transmission Line Proposal Still A Live WireSubmitted by Elizabeth Mooney on Wed, 2010-01-13 15:38.
New York Regional Interconnection has sued the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, challenging its denial of the company's plan for a 190-mile power line between Marcy and Orange County.
On its Web site, the company announced that it would "reach out to leaders in the environmental community in the coming weeks and months, including people and organizations that are specifically opposed to the NYRI Project." Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente and U.S. Rep. Michael Arcuri, said they stand ready to do whatever they can to block the power line. |
