PSC Sees Deficiencies At NYRISubmitted by Dan Hendrick on Wed, 2008-03-26 17:55.
NYRI hopes to build a 190-mile, 1,200 megawatt power line through the Hudson Valley.A plan to build a massive electricity corridor through New York state is still missing many key details, according to the state's Public Service Commission. The Middletown Times-Herald Record reports that New York Regional Interconnect's application to build the corridor -- which is more than 12 inches thick -- has a number of deficiencies. More specifically, NYRI hasn't shared details of its plans with one town, hasn't listed all the relevant local laws with which it doesn't conform, and the application did not list the proposal's visual impacts. The deficiencies will further delay the review of the power line until the deficiencies are corrected. They will also delay the start of a year-long period after which the federal government can approve the line that would start in Utica, cut through Sullivan and Orange counties and end in New Windsor. |
