The Belleayre Golf Resort will feature LEED-certified, environmentally sensitive buildings and an organic golf course.Amid news of Gov. Eliot Spitzer's resignation, Crossroads Ventures is insisting that its Belleayre Resort at Catskill Park is proceeding as planned.

Last fall, the developer inked an agreement with Spitzer and New York City, which cleared the way for a scaled-back resort next to the state-owned Belleayre Mountain Ski Resort.

According to the Daily Freeman, the plan also calls for the state to spend $45 million in taxpayer money to improve the ski center, an idea that is currently being challenged in court. Opposition groups are also challenging the validity of a deal they contend was made "under the table" with Crossroads Ventures.
