Gas Prices Rise to New National RecordSubmitted by Nana-Yaw Acheampong on Tue, 2008-03-11 17:43.
The cost of filling up your car with gas, just reached an all-time high Tuesday March 11. Gas prices at the pump rose overnight to a record national average of $3.2272 a gallon, according to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. That is only $0.0007 higher than the previous record of $3.2265, set in May 2007. This feat worsens the economies of consumers whom are already suffering from the downturn of the housing market. Because of its cost analysts expect demand for fuel and gas to drop compared to other recent years. The price has gone over the $4 mark in stations nationwide however due to the drop in demand analysts are sure that the national average would not reach that high. |
