Conservation In Long Island

Reports were released today by the representatives of Long Island's Last Stand, regarding the 2007 progress to implement the goals of Long Island's Last Stand . More than $2.8 million have been secured for the Island's conservation needs. Long Island has received a great contribution from New York state for protecting needs on Long Island.

According to Nancy N. Kelley, Executive Director of The Nature Conservancy on Long Island , they have put their firm mark on Long Island's future, with more than 4,200 acres of land protected in that time, Long Island's Last Stand is well on its way to bettering the life of all Long Islanders.
