Schenectady Brownfield Becomes Corporate HQSubmitted by Dan Hendrick on Thu, 2008-02-21 16:43.
The new headquarters for Golub Corp. -- the parent company of supermarket giant Price Chopper -- will not only be designed green, it will also occupy a brownfield site that has long been vacant in Schenectady. According to the Daily Gazette, the $22 million campus will be located on Nott Street and will incorporate best stormwater, lighting and design practices to meet "gold" level environmental design. The project won approval from the city's Planning Board on Wednesday. Golub Corp. is currently working with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority on the design specifics. The company's headquarters are currently in nearby Rotterdam, near the company's shipping hub. |
