Broadwater Makes Pitch To Long Island Regional Planning BoardSubmitted by Dan Hendrick on Wed, 2008-02-06 10:56.
The Broadwater liquefied natural gas terminal planned for Long Island Sound would reduce energy prices for consumers and add a long-term energy source. That's according to Broadwater officials, who told the Long Island Regional Planning Board at a meeting Tuesday that consumers could expect to save $300 a year. The meeting was covered by the Long Island Business News. Regional Planning Board members said they are keeping an open mind about the project, but would like more information about the cost savings. The board has not taken a position on the proposal. Later this month, Gov. Eliot Spitzer's administration is expected to make a key decision on whether the Broadwater should proceed. |
