According to the Daily Freeman, U.S Rep. Kirsten Gillibrand is feeling good about the next election, and even though the Republicans have her in their sights and are seeking to oust her in the upcoming 2008 election, she seems happy with her accomplishments.
Rep. Gillibrand has built up a rather reputable record in only her first year of office. She has pushed for Federal monies for her district, sought to relieve property tax and AMT tax burdens on families, has been a strong ally to New York's local farmers, by among other things securing minimum prices for dairy farmers, and has signed onto important environmental legislation, such as brownfield remediation and the recent House Energy Bill.
