Gore's presence will help these venture firms tackle global warming as they expand beyond traditional technology into "clean-tech" investments, which include alternative fuel research, innovative recycling programs, and an assortment of eco-friendly initiatives. Gore has promised to donate 100% of his salary as a Kleiner Perkins partner to the Alliance for Climate Protection, a Palo Alto-based think-tank focused on accelerating policy solutions to the current climate crisis.
