GE Investment to Improve Schenectady's Competitiveness

Submitted by Jessica Greenbaum on Thu, 2007-11-01 11:05.

The Daily Gazette reports that Schenectady Mayor Brian Stratton views GE Energy 's investment in Schenectady County a boon to the region's development and a vital factor in improving its competitiveness. GE Energy's plan to invest $39 million will create 500 new positions to be filled within the next 18-24 months.

Hard work, partnership and mutually beneficial economic incentives have led to a promising relationship between Schenectady and GE Energy. As County Legislature Chairwoman Susan Savage aptly states, "this is the most significant economic development in Schenectady County in a generation."
