Little Not to Like About Pick for 'Dacks ChairSubmitted by Joshua Klainberg on Thu, 2007-05-03 18:46.
On Tuesday, May 1 2007, Governor Spitzer nominated Richard Booth as the new Chair of the Adirondack Park Agency. Booth comes with solid credentials:
What's not to like? If you're Senator Betty Little, it's the fact that he lives in Ithaca, which is outside the Adirondack Park. While the law permits the governor to appoint a chair who lives outside the "blue line," State Senator Betty Little is seeing red. Little wrote the Governor: "Leadership of the agency is extremely important. We believe the chairman should be a person who lives in the Adirondacks, understands the economy, and is accessible to the people of the Adirondacks." Little's opposition could mean a lot as Booth must be confirmed by the State Senate.
