Spitzer Nominates Two Environmental StewardsSubmitted by Stacy Feldman on Fri, 2007-01-26 16:57.
Spitzer nominated Assemblymember Grannis to serve as DEC Commissioner and Judith Enck as Deputy Secretary for the Environment. We're thrilled, as you can see by our response. In a NY Times interview, Spitzer mentions five priority issues for the Grannis-Enck team: revamping the 2003 brownfield cleanup bill, building new energy plants, expanding the bottle recycling bill, "smart enforcement" of environmental review laws, climate change, and clean air and water. Enck, in the Times Union, adds land preservation and recycling to the list. We've asked the governor to address six issues in his first 100 days. See them here. |
